Price does not include mounting or framing, as I prefer to leave this highly personal choice to you.
Prices given are for a pastel portrait on Pastelmat paper. Other styles of portrait are available, such as coloured pencil on watercolour paper or drafting film, or pastels on velour paper. Quite often, the subject itself will dictate the best surface to use, e.g., soft fur works extremely well on velour paper. I will give you my opinion on the best combination of materials to represent your beloved pet in the best possible likeness.
The Process
I want the creation of your pet portrait to be be a reassuring and interesting experience. You will be guided through all the necessary steps, and I will take into account any specific requirements or deadlines that you have. This should be fun for all of us!
1 The Photos
To create your pet portrait I will need good quality photographs to work from. Check out this blog post for photo tips. You can either email me the photos or send them to me via WeTransfer. Once we have decided on a size and style of portrait, and we are both happy to proceed, you will pay a 50% non-refundable booking fee (or 40% for VIP Club members – sign up below!). This secures your place on my calendar.
2 Getting Going
During the drawing process, I will send you updates (or not, if you’d like it to be a suprise!) so that you can see how things are going. Small alterations can be made at this stage.
3 Delivery
Once you have approved the portrait, you will pay the remaining balance, and I will send you the portrait, and I will email you a high-quality JPEG file of your portrait, and will send the portrait in a well-secured box via Royal Mail special delivery. (Prices above do not include postage.) If you are in the Wantage/Oxford area, we can work out a collection or personal delivery!
